Angana Roy Biography

Angana Roy is a successful actress associated with south Indian films, known for the movies - Megha (2014), Mahabalipuram (2015) and Vathikuchi (2013). Currently she is a successful actress in Tamil film industry. In 2015, she made her Malayalam debut with Prithviraj starrer - Picket 43 directed by Major Ravi. She is to debut Telugu with two films back to back – one being a bid budget film, Srimanthudu directed by Koratala Siva. She is being paired with Mahesh babu. Speculations are that she is to play the second lead.

Angana Roy was born in Bengal in 1990, brought up in Delhi and later moved to Bangalore, Karnataka. She completed Masters in Business Administration in Finance from Bangalore and briefly worked as HR in corporate sector before she switched to entertainment industry. She is a successful model in Bangalore and has good features of a tall model. She has featured in several TV commercials and print ads. It was one of her friends who suggested her to join films. She approached director Manohar with her portfolio and she was casted for the lead role opposite Karunas in the comedy film – Ragalaipuram (2013). The full-fledged comedy film which told the story of two cops received mixed response.

She also bagged a couple of movies before the release of her debut film – Vathikuchi and Kabadam. Kabadam was released in 2014, where she played a dual shade. AR Murugadoss production Vathikuchi launched the director’s brother as lead hero. Now she is to debut Telugu with Mahesh babu film, where she was selected from 70 girls. Roy was the 71st girl who appeared for a screen test for the role.
