Anand Teltumbde Biography 
Anand Teltumbde is an Indian social activist and academician from the state of Maharashtra. He is also a columnist, writer, civil rights activist, political analyst and a management professional. He had lectured around universities in many foreign countries. As an activist he is known for Dalit movements. He is a member of All India Forum for Rights to Education, which fights for free education for children from KG to Post-graduation. In February 2019 he was arrested from Mumbai airport in connection with the violence that broke out in 2018 in Bhima Koregaon near Pune. The activist’s anticipatory bail application was rejected by Pune court one day before.
Anand Teltumbde hails from Rajur, Yavatmal district, Maharashtra. Till 7th standard he was schooled in a local school. Later he enrolled into the Government High School, Wani, and studied up to tenth. He completed pre-university course from Institute of Science and Mechanical engineering from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering. After studies, he worked for many years under different companies. Later he joined Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad where he started off with his research works in cybernetic modelling and earned a PhD. Later he worked in corporate sector for many years, associated with many companies such as Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Petronet etc.
He also served as a member of different industry and government committees. He taught at various management institutes, and has lectured around universities of US, Canada, Europe etc. Many of his books have been widely translated to other languages. As a social activist, he works on Left and Dalits, and has extensively written in English and Marathi in popular newspapers and magazines. He currently works in Management at the Goa Institute of Management as a faculty.
