Anand Sivakumaran Biography

Anand Sivakumaran is a Chemical Engineer for I.I.T Mumbai, who later took film making as profession. He is also a writer. Started his career as a Chemical engineer, he dabbled with different job roles - Advertising, Journalism and Event Management, and finally settled in screenwriting and directing films and television series. He is to make his Bollywood directorial debut through - Money Devo Bhava, a youth oriented film. As a writer and television script writer, one of his best known works is The Buddy Project – the top rated teenage comedy show aired on Channel V. The second season of the show won the ITA award for best youth show. He has served as the Executive Creative Director of Rose Audio Visuals.

 

Anand wrote and directed the short film Hello Goodbye, which registered over 5 million views online. He is a runner-up of Write Angle Contest organized by sulekha.com and B4U Television. Anand has excelled in creativity of writing for television shows. As a creative writer, he has tried with all genres of script writing. He has written for sitcoms, thrillers, kid’s shows, drama, telefilms and game shows. Miley Jab Hum Tum, Jab Love Hua, Shakira, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, Lucky, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan etc are among the most successful scripts he wrote for television.

 

He wrote the script and also served as the Associate Director on an episode of Rishtey - Izzat Ka Falooda that won the ITA award for best Mini Series. As a film director, he has directed one English thriller film – Detour. Square One – is his recent short film. Anand published his first short story The C Word and his recent published novel is The Woman on the Cliff. He also conducts workshops and courses occasionally.
