Anand Shrivastav Biography

Anand Shrivastav is the son of the great music composer of yesterdays – Chitra gupta. He along with his brother Milind Shrivastav has given music to more than 200 Bollywood movies, mostly delivered during the sweet melody era of 90’s. They were known as Anand-Milind and their pair has given some lovely music to Bollywood like Qayamat se qayamat tak, Gopi Kishen, Rakshak, Krantiveer, Anjaam, Bol Radha bol, Dil, Beta, Woh phir Aayegi, Ek ladka ek ladki, Jallad, Jaan, Chal mere bhai, Baagi and Madosh. They have given lovely music to a string of Madhuri Dixit movies like Dil, Anjaam, Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin, Maha sangraam and Beta. Same is the case of Aamir Khan, Suniel Shetty and Govinda too. Most of the major hits of Aamir, music was given by Anand-Milind. Qayamat se qayamat tak, Jawani Zindabad, Dil and Tum mere ho are a few more.

 

They debut music industry in the year 1984 with ‘Ab aayega mazza’. Yet it took long 7 years to attain a good name in Bollywood. It happened with the movie Qayamat se qayamat tak , starring Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan. Music of this movie was marked as the trendsettler and often counted in the group of melodies of 90’s or often seen as the footsteps towards the sweet era of 90’s. This movie made them successful composers of Bollywood and became one among the most sought directors of early 90’s. They followed success paths one by one.  They have given numerous dance numbers to Bollywood, yet maintained a classical base to those tunes.

 

Their other big hits include – Jalwa, Raja Babu, Pehchaan, Tum Mere Ho, Mere Sajana Saath Nibhana, Platform, Suryavanshi, Kaid mein hai bul bul, Farrar, Ek tha raja, Hero no.1, Mrityudatha, Mrithyudunt, Himmat, Chandramukhi, Lootere, Dulhe raja, Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate,  Coolie no.1, Taqdeerwala, Vijeta, Mr.Bechara, Dahek (single song – saawan barse tarse dil), Jaanam sumjha karo (one song - Kisi Ne Humse Kiya Hai Vaada) Sangdil sanam, Ladla, Pehla pehla pyar, Shatranj ke khiladi, Dayra, Anari, Pyar hua badnaam, Vansh,  Yeh tera ghar yeh mera ghar, Naam gum jaayega, Rakt, Nautanki sala, Suhaag, Teesra kaun, Loafer, Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka, Rakhwala, Bandh Darwaza and Zahreeley. 

 

They have been nominated in Filmfare Four times – Qayamat se qyamat tak (for which they won), Baagi, Dil and Beta.
