Amzath Khan Biography

Amzath Khan is a young Tamil actor who made his debut with 2010 film – Pugaippadam, directed by Rajesh Lingam and he shared screen space with Harish and Priya Anand for his debut film. He got noticed for his second film - director Arivazhagan's National Award winning film Vallinam, where he was recognized as Nakul’s friend Guna. Since then he is a regular actor of Tamil film industry, portraying supporting roles. Maya (2015) was his last release. Koditta Idangalai Nirapugha, Natpathigaram 79 and Kanbathu Poi are his upcoming projects in pipeline.

Amzath Khan always wanted to be in movie scene. After completing MBA (specialized in Film marketing) he had a short stint in working in corporate sector under Sony Pictures and later for a Chennai based FM radio Station where he worked as the marketing head. He worked in Mumbai before moving to Chennai to try luck in movies. But his passion to films prompted him to join a theater and got his first break – Pugaippadam in 2010. He also acted in short films for television (Naalaiya Iyakkunar Season 2) during this period. He developed good contacts while at Chennai and also involved in film distribution and branding.

In 2014 he got a call from Arivazhagan (following his exposure to short films) for the audition for Guna – a basket player for the movie, Vallinam and got through. He, along with other members had to train in basketball for 6 months which delayed the movie a little bit. They were taught the basics of the game. The movie starring Nakul and Mrudhula Basker in lead roles received positive response from critics. But the movie was average at box office. Yet his role was noticed and he started receiving more film offers from Tamil directors. Apart from film roles, he is also doing event management.
