Amy Jackson Biography

Amy Louise Jackson is a British model and actress who became famous in India after her performance in the film Madrasapattinam. She won Miss Teen Liverpool and was shot into limelight after winning the Miss Teen World competition in the year 2008. She won Miss Liverpool in 2009 also contested for Miss England in 2010 but ended up as runner up.

She was born in Isle of Man in England and spent her younger days at Woolton at Liverpool. Her father Alan Jackson is sports presenter in BBC Radio Merseyside and her mother is Marguerita Jackson. She has one elder sister named Alicia. She studied at St. Edward’s college and also was educated in English language, literature, philosophy and ethics. She knows English and French languages.

After winning Miss Teen World 2008, she won 18 different prizes including a wardrobe of clothes, cosmetics, modeling contract and scholarship. She exclaimed her victory saying that it was a complete shock and was very happy. She had to live in Texas for one year to promote the contest.

She signed modeling contract in the US for $20,000 and then again signed up a contract with Boss Model Management. In one of the modeling program, she was spotted by the Indian film maker A. L. Vijay and was casted in lead role in the film Madrasapattinam with Arya. She played the role of an Anglo Indian in the film for which she fitted into very perfectly. The film was a great success and earned her many positive reviews. She made her Bollywood debut through the film Ek Deewana Tha. She got training in Yoga and dancing for that film in which she performed as a Malayali Christian girl.

She was dating the Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar. Though she initially denied that fact later accepted that they were in a relationship and that had ended. She was nominated for Best Debut Actress Award in Vijay Awards. She performed in the Tamil film Thaandavam. She is inspired by Kareena Kapoor.
