Amit Mishra (singer) Biography

Amit Mishra is a well-known playback singer from Agra associated with Bollywood. Amit Mishra shot to fame with his song Bulleya picturised on actor Ranbir Kapoor in the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). It was followed by a string of hits, with songs such as Galti Se Mistake (Jagga Jasoos), Allah Duhai Hai (Race) and Radio (Tubelight). He received a Filmfare Award for new music talent, for the popular song, Bulleya. Apart from Hindi, he also sings for Telugu, Bengali and Marathi films. He is associated with film industry since 2011. Despite working with leading music directors of the industry, he had to wait for 5 long years to get the break he was waiting for.

 

Amit Mishra hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. His father Devendra Prasad Mishra is a businessman. Amit was born on 15 February 1989. He trained music since young. After graduating in commerce from Lucknow University, he also learned music from Bhatkhande Music Institute, Lucknow. Initially he was a group member of a musical band, Soham, where he was a singer. It was followed by yet another band, Trishna in Lucknow. He was the leading vocalist of this band, which participated in the singing reality show, "Idea Rocks India 2009" which was aired on Colours. His band finished at position 4.

 

Amit Mishra gained attention for the first time through independent music before he forayed to films. He rendered his voice for the album "Eternal love" by Parthiv Shah which was an instant hit. "Sau Tarah Ke" from Dishoom, "Manma Emotion Jaage" from Dilwale, “Majboor Tu Bhi Kahin” from 1920: The Evil Returns are some of his early hits before Bulleya song happened.
