Amey Wagh Biography

Amey Wagh is a popular Marathi television actor, best known for playing the role of fun-loving and sarcastic Kaivalya in Dil Dosti Duniyadari. Quite popular for his innocent face, he has also acted in a few Marathi films, apart from theatre works. He has been the part of many Marathi plays like Dalan, Gele Ekvees Varsha, Nat Samrat, Sangit Maan Apman and Katyar Kaljat Ghusli. He has hosted the television show Mrs Anna Purna. Yet it was his role as Kaivalya in Dil Dosti Duniyadari, which gave him the major break. He has also acted in some Marathi films like – Popat, Ghanta, Yashvanti, Agni Divya, Joshi ki Kamble, Shutter and Billu.

Amey Wagh, a Maharashtrian was born on November 13, 1987 in Pune. He studied at Crescent High School and BMCC College. He got associated with acting since his school days and has acted in Balnatya during his summer vacation of school days. He was very active in theatre during his college days and has participated in many inter college competitions. He was associated with Purshottam Karandak and other Natak competitions in those days. After his college days, he has worked with the groups - Samanvay and Asakta.

A very successful theatre artist, he has always preferred to stay away from daily soaps, as they give less scope in acting. He prefers theater and cinema to exhibit his acting skills. Yet he loves television shows like Anil Kapoor’s 24. He has acted in several short films before his entry to television. Bombed and The Government Inspector are his noted English pays and he is also a recipient of Vinod Doshi Fellowship, given to the budding artists of theater medium. He has worked in Bollywood film 'Aiyya', starring Rani Mukherji and Prithviraj. He shot to fame with Satish Rajvade's 2013 Marathi movie, 'Popat'. He is currently working in the Marathi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Shutter’.
