Alyque Padamsee Biography 
Alyque Padamsee is one of the leading names of Indian theatre. Known as one of the most accomplished artists of this field, he is best remembered by Indian audience for playing Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the Academy Award Winning film Gandhi. Advertising professional he heads the advertising company Lintas. He is a noted stage actor and producer.
His personal life has always been in limelight. He has married thrice in his life time and all the three are belonged to art and theater field. Pearl Padamsee, Dolly Thakore and Sharon Prabhakar are those three artists and he got legally separated from all of them. Noted actress Shazahn Padamsee is his daughter with Sharon Prabhakar. He also had a son Quasar Padamsee with Dolly Thakore. He has two kids - Raell Padamsee and Rahul Padamsee from his first marriage to Pearl Padamsee. His brother Akbar Padamsee is a contemporary Indian artist and famous painter, and his niece (daughter of Akbar) Raisa Padamsee is a Film actress, best known for the movie “Duvida”. Thus his family is fully associated with art and cinema.
Padamsee was born into a traditional Khoja Muslim family of Gujarat. He disinherited his religion at the age of 18. He married thrice and separated from all. He started the ad company, Lintas and through his hard work he built the company to one of the top advertising agencies of the country. He authored biography - ‘A Double Life’, related to ad field, which can be used as a good guide of this subject. He is the only Indian to be voted into the International Clio Hall of Fame, the Oscars of World Advertising.
The Kamasutra couple, the Liril girl, Hamara Bajaj, Charlie for Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish, MRF Muscle Man and many more – the ideas behind all these memorable ads were born in Padamsee’s mind. Padamsee is also known for his English language theatre productions. Indian government honoured him with Padmashri Award in 2000.
