Allu Rama Lingaiah Biography 
Allu Rama Lingaiah was a noted actor and comedian of Telugu movies. He was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri award by Government of India in 1990. He received Raghupathy Venkaiah award by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2001. He has associated with theatre as a comedian before his landing in entertainment industry. Mayabazar, Missamma, Muthyala Muggu, Sankarabharanam, Saptapadi and Yamagola are some of the memorable roles played by him. He played numerous roles in the 1980’s too. Jai was his last released movie.
Many of his direct family members are associated with film world. Noted film producer Allu Aravind is his son. Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is his Son-in-law. Noted film actors, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja and Allu Sirish are his grandsons. Allu Arjun is one of the most wanted actors of Telugu film industry at present. Allu Rama Lingaiah was married to Kanaka ratnam. He was a philanthropist known for his social services and support to Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. He donated his eyes to the Chiranjeevi Eye Bank.
He was born in Palakollu of Godavari Taluk in 1922. He was a homeopathic doctor before joining film industry. He was associated with Indian freedom struggle movement and got arrested during Quit India Movement. Lingaiah began his film career in 1953 with Puttillu. Throughout 1950s he appeared in many noted movies like Donga Ramudu, Maya Bazaar, Missamma, Pelli Naati Pramanalu, Parivartana, Vaddante Dabbu, Santanam, Bhagya Rekha and Todi Kodallu cementing his position as a comedian in the industry. He was active in the industry till his death in 2004. His last movie, Jai was released in 2004. Thus he completed 50 years in film industry.
