Ali Fazal Biography

Ali Fazal is an upcoming Bollywood actor, most popular with the character role of all-time blockbuster hit – 3 Idiots. In the film, Three Idiots, Fazal plays Engineering student "Joy Lobo" who sings the song, “Give me some sunshine” and later commits suicide. Though his role was too short, it played a significant role in story of the movie after that. This single role was a major break for his acting career and later Shah Rukh Khan picked him up for ‘Always KabhiKabhi’ produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. He was paired opposite Giselli Monteiro, which marked his original debut. Earlier his role in 3 Idiots was uncredited, though it proved to be a memorable role in the movie. He has also appeared in ‘The Other End of the Line’ as VJ though the role was uncredited. He also acted in sleeper hit of 2013 – Fukrey

He was born in Lucknow on October 15, 1986. While attending The Doon School in Dehra Dun he was drawn towards theater and acting. Then he appeared in a few television commercial advertisements like Pizza Hut, Union Bank of India, LG, Slice and Micromax Mobile. He was spotted by director Rajkumar Hirani while watching him in one such stage performance. Though the role was short, it proved to be a powerful turning point of the script. Always Kabhi Kabhi marked his real debut as an actor. But the movie didn’t perform well at box office. The movie was produced by Shah Rukh Khan for Red Chillies Corporation.

In Fukrey, he played the role of Ali, a musician for which he received positive reviews. His upcoming movies are Sonali Cable, Fast & Furious 7, Baat Ban Gayi, Ektho chance and Bobby Jasoos.
