Akshara Hassan Biography

Akshara Hassan is an upcoming Indian actress, better known as the younger daughter of star actors – Kamal Hassan and Sarika. Her parents have now separated and she now lives with her father and Gauthami, live-in partner of Kamal Hassan. Her elder sister Shruti Haasan has already debut in movies and has worked in many south Indian films and Bollywood. Though Akshara has been offered many film offers before, she has declined them all showing her interest in film making. She was to be launched by Mani Ratnam through 2013 movie, Kadal. Now Akshara is set to her Bollywood debut with her upcoming flick, directed by Balki. Balki is known for directing movies like Paa and Cheeni Kum with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role and this movie too stars Big B in the pivot role. Akshara is casted opposite Dhanush in this venture.

Akshara Haasan was born on 12 October 1991 in Chennai. Akshara completed her schooling in Chennai and also studied at Bangalore's Indus International School. Though she was offered many film roles as an actress during her teens, she showed her interest in film making. She also assisted film Rahul Dholakia in the Bollywood film ‘Society’, which starred her mother in pivot role. Dholakia took Akshara as his assistant on the request of her mother. This girl is known for her professionalism and her ability to charm everyone in the sets. She is also keen in learning western dance forms.

But now she has accepted Balki's offer for his upcoming movie which surprised her fans. She read numerous film scripts before her decision to debut as an actress. The movie is scheduled to get released in 2014. R.Balki’s favourite choices - music director Illayaraaja and cinematographer PC Sreeram have also been roped in for the movie.
