Akhil Iyer Biography

Akhil Iyer is an Indian film actor who has done Bollywood films and TV commercials. He has done a supporting role in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014) marking his debut. Then he appeared in Iruvar Ondranal and Nijama Nizhala in 2016 in Tamil. He is active in movies since the year 2013, and mostly plays supporting roles on screen. He has worked in theater and has accepted a few modelling roles. Akhil Iyer is an engineer by profession, but he always wanted to become an actor. He speaks both Hindi and Tamil.

Akhil Iyer was born on October 3, 1987 in Bangalore. His father Ram Iyer was an orthopedic surgeon and his mother Asha Iyer was a gynecologist. He completed his schooling and computer science engineering from his hometown. After that he decided to do theatre full-time for a year in Bangalore. During his stint in theatre, he got opportunity to work with some of the leading theater personalities like Arundhati Raja, Prakash Belawadi and Sharanya Ramprakash. He also did modelling and was featured in both TVCs and print commercials for Sprite. He then moved to Chennai to pursue a career in films.

He signed two Tamil movies - Iruvar Ondranal & Nijama Nizhala which were in the post-production stage. Then he moved to Mumbai and signed his first Hindi film was Lekar Hum Deewana Dil which was directed by Arif Ali. He did the role of Mahesh in the movie and it is his first theater release. The movie got released in 2014, while the couple of Tamil movies got released finally in 2016. The actor dreams to become a household name in distant future.
