Ajit Hutheesing Biography 
Ajit Hutheesing is a member of Nehru family. He is the son of Krishna Hutheesing, youngest sister of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He is a businessman and is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Capital Partners Inc. ICP holds a successful record of investments in small private and public companies. He is a former member of the Greenwich Roundtable. Indira Gandhi was his first cousin.
He is an American of Indian origin born in the famous Hutheesing family of Ahmedabad. He was born to Gunottam (Raja) Hutheesing and Krishna Nehru Hutheesing and he has one brother. The family is a prominent one which built the Hutheesing Jain Temple. He is the grandson of Motilal, prominent lawyer, congress politician and founder patriarch of India's most powerful political family, the Nehru-Gandhi family. He is the nephew of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit. Both his parents were noted authors and his mother is known for documenting the lives of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
His father was associated with industrial group, Lalbhai Group. He was a politician and journalist too. Ajith was married first to Amrita Hutheesing and the couple has three sons. But the couple divorced after 25 years of their married life and Ajith remarried in 1996 to Helen Armstrong, a violinist. She died in 2006.
Ajit was one among the first Indians who started investment banking in the early 1960s. He trained under S.G. Warburg & Company in London and returned back to India in 1963 to start the first investment bank. But it was a time when all Indian banks got nationalized by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He joined the International Finance Corporation, where he worked for 10 years. He started ICP in 1988.
