Aditya Roy Kapur Biography

Aditya Roy Kapur is a successful actor of new generation of Bollywood. Most recently, his movie Aashique 2 became a blockbuster at box office earning 100 crores. He is the younger brother of Sidharth Roy Kapur and Kunal Roy Kapoor and brother in law of successful actress Vidya Balan. He debut Bollywood through London Dreams and came to lime light with his distinct curly hair style in movies – Guzarish and Action Replay. Though all these movies became big flops at box office, Aashique placed him among the top actors of promising tomorrow. He has done supporting actor role in block buster ‘Yeh jawani hai diwani’. Before joining the industry he was a successful VJ of MTV.

Aditya Roy Kapur’s mother - Salome Roy Kapur was Miss India.1972 and has choreographed ‘Mein shayar to nahi’ of Bobby. She has acted in a couple of movies as well. Aditya Kapoor, too has not joined any acting school and his ambition was only to become video jockey. But when he was called for audition to London Dreams, he began to dream about dream world of Bollywood. London Dreams starring Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan and Asin in the lead roles was a big failure at box office despite being highly marketed.

His next venture was Action Replay in 2010. He played the role of son of Akshay Kumar and Aiswarya Rai, who goes back to years using time machine to correct the mistakes of the quarrelling couple. He played the role of Bunty in the movie. Despite being a new idea, the movie was not received well by the audience. Same year much talked Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Guzarish also went off without much sparks and fumes. Again Aiswarya Rai was the leading heroine of this movie, along with Hritik Roshan. His role as Omar Siddiqui - the son of great magician who cheated Hritik in a show leaving him paralyzed was noted. When he comes to learn magic from great magician he serves as an assistant role. His role was well noticed.

Then it took long 3 years for his release ‘Aashique 2’ which turned to be a block buster. This is his first movie as leading hero opposite Shraddha Kapoor, doing a full-fledged role. His magical performance as a lost singer addicted of both his love and liquor went to become one among the top hits of 2013. Through this movie, he has proved to be a promising actor of tomorrow.
