Aditya Lakhia Biography

Aditya Lakhia is a Bollywood film actor, best known for a few memorable character roles. He came to limelight for the first time through the highly acclaimed film, Lagaan co-starring Aamir Khan in 2001. He played the memorable role of Kachra in the epic film, which earned him quite a few accolades. He has been a part of Bollywood since late 1980s. Yet it took many years for Lakhia to create a mark in the industry. Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Rihaee etc are some of his early works in Bollywood. His roles in Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) and Mission Istaanbul (2008) were well-appreciated. Now he is busy with his television career.

It has been more than 15 years since iconic film Lagaan released. No matter the number of films and television serials he worked in thereafter. Yet, he is still identified through the role of Kachra he played in the movie. Though he couldn’t gain big in Bollywood, he owns many hit TV shows to his credit. He played the role of Nanku, Laali's father in the soap drama, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo during 2009-2011. Tom, Dick, and Harry, Humraaz, Ek Ajnabee, Ramji Londonwale, Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye, 3 Deewarein, Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost etc are some of his Bollywood works.

He hails from Ahmedabad. While he studied Literature in class XI-XII in Mayo College he did a lot of plays and sang on stage which he loved. He started off in films in the late 1980s playing bit roles. Om-Dar-B-Dar (1988) was his first credited film role. Along with playing bit roles on screen, he also worked as an assistant director in the 1990s for movies like Akele Hum Akele Tum before getting more acting roles.
