Aditya Chopra Biography

Aditya Chopra is the director who wrote history with his debut movie. Yes, he is the director of the movie that made history as the longest running movie of Indian screen. He is the director the movie ‘Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge’ that has most recently completed 900 weeks in the releasing theatre of Mumbai – Marata Theatre. When he created magic onscreen with less experienced artists in 1995, it was something like a new reformation of Indian screen. Bollywood paved way to romantic numbers from action thrillers. He has directed only three movies till now in 18 years. Yet all the three movies are blockbusters – DDLJ, Mohabbatein and Rab ne bana di Jodi. In all the three movies, Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role. In other terms, this director as director and producer has played a significant role in placing Shah Rukh Khan as the King Khan of Bollywood.

Aditya Chopra is the elder son of Yash Chopra and elder brother of actor Uday Chopra. Now he is dating famous actress Rani Mukherjee. As a producer he and Yash raj films banner has given significant contribution to Indian cinema. He as a writer has written the stories of successful movies of DDLJ, Dil to pagal hai, Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, Mujhse dosthi karoge, Bunti aur babli, Salaam namasthe, Rab ne bana di Jodi, Laaga chunari mein daag, Jab thak hai jaan, Ek tha tiger and Kill Dil (yet to release). His banner Yash Raj Films has always created records at box office as well as Filmfare and other awards. As a producer his blockbuster movies include Dhoom series, DDLJ, Dil to pagal hai, Veer Zaara, Bunty aur Babli, Chak de India, Fanaa, Ek tha tiger, New York and Jab thak hai jaan.

He has won 3 National awards till now. Among his produced movies, DDLJ has won 10 Filmfare awards and one National award. Dil to pagal hai has won 9 Filmfare awards and 3 National awards. Veer Zaara has won 7 Filmfare awards and one National awards. Chak de India has won 5 Filmfare awards and 1 National awards. His films have always won the National awards for popularity and entertainment wholesome. Thus he is giving significant contributions to Indian cinema in the banner started by his father.
