Adharvaa Biography

Atharvaa, also known as Atharva Murali is a Tamil actor. He is the son of famous Tamil actor of 1990’s – Murali who passed away in 2010. One year earlier, Atharvaa was launched to film industry by his father with the movie Baana Kaathadi, where he was paired opposite Samantha which opened to positive reviews. Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012) and Paradesi (2013) are his other released Tamil movies. Now a set of movies is scheduled to release in 2014 - Irumbu Kuthirai, Eetti and Kanithan. In all these three movies he is to play lead roles opposite Priya Anand, Sri Divya and Catherine Tresa respectively.

Atharvaa was born to actor Murali and his wife, Shobha, on May 7, 1989 in Chennai. Atharvaa has two siblings. His grandfather Sidhalingaiya was a famous director in Kannada. As a child, he wanted to become a pilot. Slowly his attitude changed as he started watching movies seriously. He was encouraged a lot by his grandfather to choose cinema as the first career option. After high school, many of his dad’s friends persuaded him to join film industry. But young Atharvaa was patient and he studied dance and stunts before entering movies. He also heard many scripts, but none was pleasing till Baana Kaathadi happened. His father also played a cameo role in this movie. The movie became so popular that people started addressing him as Ramesh, his character name in the movie.

His second movie, Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal too did fairly well at box office. In 2013, he gave a phenomenal acting performance in Bala’s Paradesi, which gave him a nomination at Best Lead Actor at London International Film Festival. He also received Edison Award for Extreme Performance for the same role.
