Adarsh. H. Eshwarappa Biography

Adarsh. H. Eshwarappa is an artist associated with Kannada film industry.  He is a film actor, screenwriter and director who works in Kannada cinema. He made directional debut through critically acclaimed, Shuddhi – a woman centric movie. Son of an auto driver and schoolteacher, his journey in films is nothing short of a fictional story or filmy script. He went to film school in Los Angeles and returned to Bangalore to mark his debut in Kannada cinema.

Adarsh. H. Eshwarappa hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. After he completed his mechanical engineering degree, he found that it’s not easy to find a job in this profession. Also he couldn’t attend any campus placement, he chose to work in a BPO with American clients at night shifts and live his dreams during the day. B.E. (Mech) in 2013 marked his directorial debut, and the film’s trailer raked one lakh views on Facebook before the movie release.

Born into a middle class family, he completed his engineering degree from MVIT. He was interested in choreography, and his grandfathers were into theatre. At at one inter-college dance competition, he got disqualified. Adarsh locked himself up in his room and thought hard about his life. He decided he must make films. When he finished his engineering, he refused campus interviews so that he could put in place his “BPO work plan”.  He worked at IBM, and later Dell, and in those days he started renting movies every day. He saw more than a 1,000 films in two years to learn the art of filmmaking. He sees Steven Spielberg as his guru.

The New York Film Academy in Los Angeles beckoned him, and moved to US in 2010. Once he came back, he wanted to join the film industry as an assistant film director. But for many financial commitments, he went back to his BPO life. He joined Unisys and made three short films during his course. Finally he started his first film project in 2012.
