Achuthan B. Nair Biography

Achuthan B. Nair is a child actor associated with Malayalam cinema, best known for his debut flick – Mamangam, released on 12 December 2019. It’s a high budget Malayalam-language period film directed by M. Padmakumar, with megastar Mammootty playing the lead role. Achuthan B. Nair played the pivot and meaty role of child warrior Chandroth Chanthunni, which shot him to instant fame. This single role made him a household name across Kerala. Apart from Malayalam, the movie had a theatre release in Tamil and Hindi languages, and opened to mixed reviews.

Achuthan B. Nair is now a 6th standard student at Puthupally Georgian School, and with the release of his debut film, Mamangam, he turned a celebrity at school. He got the role during the summer vacation of 4th standard classes, and he fully dedicated long two years for this role. He went to school only for exams for the past two years, and took so many efforts to get into the skin of the role. He was seen performing martial arts in the movie, where he portrayed Chandroth Chanthunni. He specially grew hair for the movie, and also sought special permission from school to do so.

For the role of Chandroth Chanthunni, the child artist should know Kalari or Kerala martial arts. When the filmmakers were in search of a child artist who is familiar with it, Achuthan landed into the role. Auditions were conducted state wide in teaching schools of martial arts. But when he chosen for the role through auditions, it was still kept under wraps that Mammootty plays the lead role, and it is a huge budget film.
