Abir Chatterjee Biography

Abir Chatterjee is a popular Bengali film and television actor and the son of noted theater personalities, Phalguni and Rumki Chatterjee. Banhishikha, Sudhu Tomari Jonno, Proloy..asche, Shomoy, Shasuri Zindabad, Khuje Berai Kacher Manush, Ek Aakasher Niche and Janmobhumi are Abir’s noted television works. His father was one of the founders to noted theater group Lokkrishti. Abir is married to Nandini Chatterjee. He made a special appearance in Vidya Balan’s Hindi hit – Kahaani directed by Sujoy Ghosh. He has worked with many movies directed by Anjan Dutt. The Royal Bengal Tiger, Jodi Love dilena prane, Aagun, Asharey Goppo, Bomkesh Part 3 and Hrid Majharey are his upcoming movies.

Abir was born in Kolkata on November 18, 1980 as the son of Phalguni and Rumki Chatterjee. He completed graduation from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata and Master of Business Administration in finance from ICFAI Business School. Then he joined television industry and became a successful serial actor. Later he moved to films. Proloy..asche in Sananda TV, Shomoyin Ruposhi Bangla, Shasuri Zindabad and Khuje Berai Kacher Manush in Zee Bangla, Banhishikha, Sudhu Tomari Jonno in ETV Bangla, Ek Aakasher Niche and Janmobhumi made him a popular television actor.

In 2009, he appeared in Bengali movie, Cross connection in supporting role. The movie was directed by Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy for Acropolis Entertainment Private Ltd. The movie starred Saswata Chatterjee, Rimjhim Mitra, Payel Sarkar and Abir Chatterjee as central characters. Later he acted in Bengali movies like Bomkesh Bakshi (Adim Ripu) (2010), Prem By Chance (2010), Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona (2011), Baishe Srabon (2011), Bedroom (2012), Abar Bomkesh (Chitrochor) (2012), Jekhane Bhooter Bhoy (2012), Bojhena Shey Bojhena (2012), Aborto (2013), Kanamachi (2013), Meghe Dhaka Tara (2013) and Asbo Arekdin (2013).
