Abenao Elangbam Biography 
Abenao Elangbam is a popular Manipuri actress. In 2014 she received state award for best actress for the movie, Tabunungda Akaiba Likli. She has also received Th. Ashokumar Memorial Award in Arts and Culture. She has completed more than a decade in the film industry and has delivered some memorable performances till now. A perfect example of “beauty with brain” in the Manipuri film industry, she started her film journey in 2006. She came to limelight after the success of her movie “Thoiba Thoibi” (2006).
Her birth name is Sonia Elangbam. She was born on September 28, 1986. She completed her Master’s degree from Manipur University. She specialized in Adult Education. She has been a part of theatre before joining the film industry in 2006. She has been associated with People's Arts and Dramatics Association, Top Khongang Makhong, Imphal and still a part of the troupe. Chingjaogum Lepliba Thamoi, in a supporting role marked the beginning of her career journey, and very soon she rose to prominence with the film, Thoiba Thoibi released the same year. But actually she appeared in a bit role in Naosum also, which got released earlier. She was formally launched onscreen through Thoiba Thoibi.
She has done more than 30 films in the past 13 years in film industry. Some of her best works till now include - Liklaai, Phijigee Mani, Thoiba Thoibi, Nobap, Ekhenglaktagi Red Rose, Chumthang Makhong, Akhunba Mani, Thokkidagi Kishi, Bema Bema, Leikang Thambal, Tabunungda Akaiba Likli, Western Sankirtan and Waikhu. She is loved by audience not just for her performance but also the 'down to earth' image of simplicity which she possesses both on and off the screen.
