Abbas Biography
Abbas is a South Indian actor who started his career as a model. He had contributed in films of many languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi. He was born in Kolkata but spent his childhood days at Mumbai.
He was doing modeling at Bangalore when he met the director Kathir who took him to Tamil film industry. He did not know Tamil at that time and so was very reluctant to start his acting career and went back to Mumbai to continue his education. But again after a year, in 1996, he was selected by K.T. Kunjumon to perform in the film Kadhal Desam which went on to be a huge success. The song in the film Mustafa Mustafa earned him many female fans and he went to great heights during that time.
He has performed in more than 40 films of various languages and in many of them he acted as second hero with leading stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and Madhavan. In 1996-2000, he became so famous that his hairstyle attracted everyone and the hair cut named Abbas Cut was hot in the fashion industry.
He performed in the successful album Yeh Hai Prem in 1999. After the year 2003, he was not very successful in his film career and so he started to look after his family business in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad though he is performing in some films in between. He took part in the Bakrid special Tamil game show Deala No Deala on 28th November 2009.
He fell in love with the fashion designer Erum Ali and married her in 1997 and has a son named Aymaan Ali and a daughter named Emira Ali. Erum Ali being a well known costume designer in Tamil and Telugu industry has worked for many films including Ayirathil Oruvan.
