Aadya Bedi Biography

Aadya Bedi is a noted stage actress who has appeared in a few Bollywood films also. She is the niece of famous actor Kabir Bedi. Aadya Bedi made debut in Dev Benegal's 1999 Indian controversial film Split Wide Open. Though the movie was controversial in India for its bold subject, the movie was shown at many international film festivals. She played a supporting role in the movie, which also starred Rahul Bose, Laila Rouass and Kiran Nagarkar. Later she continued working in theater and in American television and earned success and recognition. Split Wide Open was a bilingual film released in Hindi and English.

Some of her latest works for films include – Radha in 2010 film Grant St. Shaving Co, Damini in 2011 film Koel and Maya in 2013 film, Fireflies. She acted in American police procedural television drama series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent” in 2008 where she played the role of Jasmina Khan. She is fully engaged in theatre circle which include - The Antarctic Chronicles (2009), The Books (2009) and many more.

She was born in India to Satish Kuldip Bedi and Anjula Bedi. Satish Bedi is the cousin of Kabir Bedi. Her parents met for the first time in Jaipur for a comedy show, when English theatre had just begun to gain popularity in India. Born into a family of artists and actors, she too stepped into the shoes of an actor. She has one brother Rahul Kuldip Bedi and two sisters - Tarini Bedi, a professor and author and Vandana Bedi. Her brother is an actor. Her cousins are Pooja Bedi and Adam Bedi. She is married to Micheal Hayden. Producer- actress Aalia Furniturewala is her aunt.
