Aaditi Pohankar Biography

Aaditi Pohankar is an actress who works in Bollywood, Tamil and Marathi film industries. She is a stage actress too. She made her acting debut with the Bollywood film - Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), which fared well at box office. In 2014, she played a supporting role in Nishikant Kamat’s Marathi film, Lai Bhaari, co-starring Riteish Deshmukh. The movie gave her real breakthrough she was waiting for. The movie ran for more than 100 days in Maharashtra. In 2017 she made her Tamil debut through Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, playing the supporting role of Saroja Devi, and has bagged her first lead role through Mannavan Vanthanadi, costarring Santhanam.

Aaditi Pohankar was born on 1 January 1994. Sudhir and Shobha Pohankar are her parents. Both her parents were formerly associated with sports. Yet Aaditi choose entertainment as her professional career. In fact her grandmother Sindhu Pohankar was a stage actor, and classical vocalist Ajay Pohankar is her uncle. She started off with stage plays in 2010, and got a brief role for Bollywood film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), the movie which remained in spotlight for its bold content. She marked her Marathi film debut with small budget film, Kunisathi Kunitari (2011).

In 2012, she signed a Malayalam movie, but the project got shelved. Aaditi continued with her stage shows in Mumbai circuit, and she was spotted by director Nishikant Kamat after watching her performing on stage on one such occasion. Thus she bagged the most memorable role of her career, Lai Bhaari. Later she bagged many offers from Marathi and south Indian film industry too. Apart from films and stage, she is also associated with modelling industry. She has been featured in more than 20 TV ads and also walked the International Film Festival of India red carpet in Goa in 2014.
