Why Birthdays Should Always Be Celebrated At Private Party Places And Never At A Restaurant?

I would give you six reasons to prove that it is always better to celebrate at a private place/venue than a restaurant.

It’s your birthday and you have a budget in mind with the number of guests to be invited. So you chose a restaurant. You choose this restaurant because:

  1. You love the food.

  2. It’s your favourite restaurant.

  3. They provide food at economical prices.

Some major flaws of a restaurant birthday party:

Big guest list:

Be it the 1st, 18th or 30th birthday party you organising, your guests would be more than 15 to 20 right? Booking a table for 20 at a restaurant is not an issue; the major issue which you will face is accommodating them with comfort. Your guests will be seated far away from you and it would be very difficult for you as a host to communicate and have a conversation with each one of them. Another problem you would face is to give personal attention to each one of them. As restaurants are mostly crowded, you cannot move much between your guests. You would have to be seated most of the time and would leave you helpless in looking after your guests needs.

Likewise, if you book up a private place the seating arrangements can be placed as per your choice. As the place is booked for your event, it allows you to be free enough with your guests. You can look after each guest personally and take care of their needs.

Conversation or commotion:

It is a conversation if 4 to 5 people are sitting and talking, but 20 and above sitting together on one table? You cannot imagine a conversation. It would definitely be a commotion. You may be the host, but the fact is not many will be able to hear you on the large dining table and would land up having a conversation with the guests seated beside them. The biggest disadvantage here is you may somewhere loose the purpose of the party. Each one of them having their own conversation would make it look like more of a social get together than a birthday party.

Private place gives you the liberty to move around with your guests and have one to one conversation with them. This way your guests are involved in your party and you be the heart of the party.

Menu:

Now comes the most important part of the party, food and beverages. In a restaurant the captain will hand you and your guests a menu to make your beverages and food choices. Each one has their own choice and taste. In such cases ordering gets difficult. You cannot control the number of orders that are made by your guests for starters, main course, dessert and beverages. This gives a toss to your budget. You may actually land up ordering and spending more than required/ planned.

Whereas when you host your party at a private place, you can take the privilege of pre ordering the food. You can keep your choice of food and beverages. As you order limited dishes, beverages as per number of guests, you save on your expenses. This makes it more economical and penny wise.

Care for a dance?

No music and dance makes your party super boring. Guests want to loosen up and dance to your favourite tunes. But is that possible in a restaurant? You will surely get some complaints wrapped up as feedbacks, saying they missed dancing in your party. When you plan a party your ultimate aim is having fun with your guests and make sure each one of them has left contented and satisfied. This complaint would surely make you sad even after doing all to make your guests happy.

When you have a private place you can either have your own collection of music be played or you could hire a DJ. You enter a party as a guest you want to enjoy a bit with your host and other guests rather than dining. So a good music to which they can dance would welcome them much better than starters in restaurants. Your own venue will let you dance with your guests and help you break the ice in the party.

Tiny guests:

Some of us have friends who have kids and hence you would have tinny guests along with the elders. It is utmost difficult to handle these kids. If they are not kept busy, they could turn into monsters and ruin your party. In restaurants you can barely move, how would you keep the kids busy? They get bored, cry and then force their parents to take them home. Hence even if your friends want to be with you, they can’t.

If you know that your guests are going to be accompanied with their kids, you can arrange for some games or entertainment for these kids. This way they are kept involved in the party and they don’t disturb your party. This is only possible when you book up a private place.

Privacy:

Restaurants don’t give privacy. As you don’t have the place to your own, you don’t feel free. With friends around, there are times when you have some incidents, jokes and actions discussed, which you wouldn’t be comfortable be disclosed around unknown faces. It would leave you embarrassed. All have a set of notorious friends who would like to sing funny birthday songs, put cake on your face and give birthday bumps. It could leave you embarrassed in a restaurant.

When you have a place to yourself, all these things are possible and it makes you feel free to be yourself and not be conscious. Thus, you enjoy along with your friends in your style.

With these six points I am sure you would have understood the advantages to organise a party in a banquet, hall or private place.

Happy Hosting.
