Whose Voice Suits Best For Shah Rukh Khan?

Shah Rukh Khan – the romantic hero of Bollywood owns numerous sweet melodies of Bollywood since early 1990s. He has sync lipped to almost all leading singers of Bollywood – from top singers of 1990s like Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet and Udit Narayan to the latest Amitabh Bhattacharya and Arjit Singh. Sukhwinder Singh and Sonu Nigam’s voice also suit him the best. So, which one is the best in your opinion? Really confusing, right?

Truth is that SRK is one among those rare actors, similar to Dev anand whose popularity has never faded with time and till now he is regarded as the best romantic hero of Bollywood, though many new actors have entered the stage. That may be the reason why all the songs pictured on him create the same magic as he did 15 or 20 years ago. Also as time passes by, his singing voice becomes younger on screen.

Kumar Sanu’s voice was used most in the 1990s - Pardes, Baazigar, Koyla, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le jayenge etc. Shah Rukh and Kumar Sanu quite complimented one another. Dekha tujhe to of Koyla, Baazigar mein baazigar and Yeh kali kali of Baazigar, Tujhe dekha to of DDLJ and Ek din aap yu of Yes Boss are quite a few instances. Since the smash hit of Baazigar, Kumar Sanu’s voice has been repeated several times for Shah Rukh.

But I feel that Udit Narayan sang maximum songs for him. In the 1990s and 2000s, Udit Narayan sang numerous melodies for Shah Rukh. Since early 2000s Kumar Sanu disappeared from main stream and that may be the reason why Udit’s matured voice was used for him in the early 2000s. Later Sonu Nigam took over the place of Kumar Sanu and did playback singing for many hits of 2000s. Their successful association began with Satrangee Re of Dil se, followed by Khamoshiyan of 1 2 ka 4, Surat hua madam of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Mein agar kahoon of Om Shanti Om and many more.

But nowadays young singers have taken the place of Sonu Nigam and surprisingly audience and music lovers are able to connect themselves with this change. Chartbusters like Ishq Shava sung by Raghav Mathur, Challa by Rabbi Shergill and Titli by Gopi Sunder are best instances. Yes, Shah Rukh’s voice is becoming younger as days passes by and suits every new singer’s voice as well.
