Great civilizations have always born on river banks. Egyptian civilization is one such that was started in the fertile banks of river Nile. It was Egyptians who transformed themselves from nomads who travel from one place to another in search of food, water and shelter to civilized people, who cultivated land for their own. They were self-dependent and have started basis of mathematics, chemistry, metallurgy and even fashion trends! Their lovely piece of art are imprinted in pyramids as well as mummies, we still wonder how they were able to do so before 6000 years.

Their contributions to modern world are many – Solar calendar of 365 days and 12 months, divine script of pictures and letters known as Hieroglyphics, calculating time according to shadow of sun or flow of water, trigonometry and geometry, chemistry, art, medical and dental science, engineering and a lot of things.

Earlier Egypt was divided into two parts – Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. Great rulers known as Pharaohs ruled ancient Egypt of which Amenhotep 1V – believer of one God and First female ruler of the world Hatshepsut need special mention. Till Alexander the Great of Rome, 31 pharaohs and Persians ruled Egypt. Egyptian civilization came into existence long before 4200 BC and it disintegrated completely around 525 BC.  

Now a small note of mummies and pyramids

Sphinx – with head of a man and lower part of a lion, the great pyramid built by Khufu and mummies are best examples of Egyptian’s creativity and architecture. They believed in life after death and hence they decorated and embalmed dead bodies with everything it need for life after death. It’s most interesting to know that they kept food, water, liquor, perfumes and weapons near the mummies. Mummies even after years have not damaged and it’s still a mystery how they were able to preserve dead bodies for centuries. Mummies of Pharaohs and royal family members were kept in pyramids.

Now a small note on Great Pyramid of Egypt. This gigantic monument is the biggest even made structure by humans on earth surface - 500 feet height, 13 acre surface area and 20 years of construction. It included sweat and blood of more than 1 lakh humans too!
