Bhopal is not only the capital of the state of Madhya Pradesh but also one of the well developed and industrialized cities of India. The city is well connected by road with other neighboring cities through NH 12 and NH 18. The two important bus stations Habibganj station and Kushabhau Thakre station are also located here.

 

There are some religious places worth visiting in Bhopal namely Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Kalighat, Gufa Mandi and Mahavir Giri. Other tourist places in Bhopal are Manav Sanghralay, Kerwa Dam, Lal Parade Ground, Shahpura Lake and Van Vihar National Park. The Bharat Bhavan is one of the cultural centers of the city and it is famous for its open air amphitheatre and art gallery.

 

The mild and less spicy but at the same time tasty cuisine of Bhopal enslaves the food lovers. The non-vegetarian varieties like Murgh Rezala, Murgh Hara Masala Rice, Chicken Tikka and Murgh Nizami are really delicious. Ras malai, kebabs and paneer rezala are some other varieties popular here. Chewing of paan is a custom among people and is prevalent all over the city. The restaurants of Bhopal also serve continental, Americana and Chinese food items along with the Mughlai cuisine.
