ABOUT VIRENDER SEHWAG 

Virender Sehwag was born on October 20, 1978 in Delhi, India, and known for being part of the Indian Cricket Team. He is also known as the Zen Master of Modern Cricket because of his outstanding skills in the Cricket sport. He is one of the most popular and most skilled batsmen in the Cricket Team of India that is why the sport made him a heartthrob among the girls not only in India, but in other countries, as well. HIS CHILDHOOD

Virender Sehwag was a member of a family that consists of six members: his father, Krishan, a grain merchant, his mother, Krishna, his older sisters, Manju and Anju, and his younger brother, Vinod. He was the third of the four children in their family. His family belonged in the middle class of society and lived in a bungalow house along with some of their relatives. Their family originally lived in Haryana, although they are living in New Delhi at present. He studied in Arora Vidya School during the time when he persuaded his parents to allow him to play Cricket.

CONTRIBUTION TO INDIAN CRICKET

With his many achievements, Virender Sehwag contributed a lot in the sport of Cricket. He was the first Cricket player to score five wickets in a test innings in Test Cricket. His skill considered being a “genius” and an added value to the Cricket team of India. He is also known as the “game changer” because of his ability to change the flow of the game using his abilities. He considered being an all-around player because not only is he excellent in one field of Cricket, but he is also excellent in the different other fields.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN LIFE

Virender Sehwag has many achievements. Here, are five of his achievements:

• He is the only batsman in India who scored two triple centuries in Test Cricket.

• He is the International Cricket Council Test Player of the Year in the year 2010.

• He is a recipient of the Arjuna Award in 2002, an award for outstanding achievement in sports.

• He received the Padma Shree in 2002.

• He awarded as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 2008 and 2009. This award given to five players, who have outstanding achievements in Cricket, each year.

ROLE IN INDIAN TEAM

Considered as an all-around player, Virender Sehwag has two roles in the sport of Cricket: he is the opening batsman, a right-handed one, and sometimes he is an off spinner. Because he is proficient at not only one, but two roles in the sport, he is well-known to be exceptionally skilled and referred to as a “genius”. His achievements and contributions to Cricket made him popular all over the world. He is one of the prominent players in the Indian Cricket Team. His dedication and love for the sport paved the way for him to become proficient and succeed in Cricket.
