Association of R.D.Burman and Kishore Kumar is something like the beginning of a great episode of a historic tele serial. R.D – Kishore Kumar combination has given a significant contribution to Bollywood music and best fast tracks of the golden era of 70’s entirely belong to them. In fact, R.D Burman was instrumental in creating Kishore waves all over India. When beginning of 70’s showed signs of great reformation in Indian music, those features were well exhibited in R.D – Kishore Kumar combination songs most. Though it’s a challenge to list all the best of their fast numbers, let me try to add the best 10 of my favourite and most popular at that time.

Zindagi ek safar: This fast track from the movie Andaz was a huge hit during early 70’s. Rajesh Khanna played guest role in this movie and he rides a bike along with Hema Malini in this song.

Lekar hum deewane dil: This particular song from the movie ‘Hum kise se kum nahin’ sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle is still a foot tapping number. A blockbuster hit.

Yeh jawani hai diwani: Most recently a movie has been released with exactly the same wordings and has already broken several records. This particular song belongs to Ranbir Kapoor-Jaya Bhaduri movie ‘Jawani Diwani’ of 1972 and still a favourite disco number.

Chala jaata hoon: This particular Kishore Kumar song of the movie ‘Mere jeevan saathi’ is remembered for yodling – a unique singing style of Kishore Kumar. The song was pictured on Rajesh Khanna, driving the car.

Koi haseena jab: This teasing number of Sholay is of course a fast track and belongs to the top hit pair of 70’s – Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

Mere samne wali khidki: I am not sure if this particular song of Padason can be included in fast tracks or not. But if we consider the time when this movie was released – 1966, it’s of course a fast number and a popular composition too.

Jaanu meri jaan: This song belongs to both Rafi and Kishore da, one among the rare songs sung by these two leading singers. The song is from the movie Shaan of 1980. Kishore da sung for Big B while Rafi saab rendered his voice to Sashi Kapoor.

Soni soni meri tamanna: Yadom ki baarat is one among the best compositions of R.D and he has westernized Indian tunes in this movie a lot.

Bachna e haseeno: Again, this song has been used in a new generation cinema, both its remixed version and the phrase to coin the title of the movie. This song was pictured on Rishi Kapoor and movie – Hum kise se kum nahin.

Hawa ke saath saath: This particular song of Sita aur Gita is unique in many ways. We can see the couple – Hema Malini and Sanjeev Kumar doing skating in this song picturation.
