Top 10 Duets Of Bollywood - All Time

Bollywood is not short of romantic movies or duet songs. Pairing of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle with leading playback singers – Mukesh, Rafi and Kishore Kumar has given numerous hits to Bollywood. In modern times too, Kumar Sanu-Alka Yagnik pair and Sonu Nigam – Shreya Goshal have given a few memorable songs. As it’s not possible to list them all, let me try to pick 10 best gems that I feel the best; perhaps it may not match with choices of yours. If so, excuse me please. Just I am trying to quote the best 10 romantic songs ever pictured on Bollywood big screen with voices of both male and female playback singers.

Pyar hua ekraar hua – This song still stays above ages and the best song to indicate the romantic era of Black and White movies during 50’s. The song of Shree 420 was pictured on then hot couple – Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Though their love story didn’t have a happy end, this song can never be excluded from the top 10 popular romantic songs of Bollywood all time.

Kabhi kabhi – This song was a craze in college campuses during late 70’s, so is its status now also. Perhaps this song is regarded as the most romantic song ever made on Bollywood and loved by people of all ages. Song was shown two times in the movie Kabhi Kabhi and the team of Amitabh Bachchan, Sashi Kapoor and Rakhee  have done their best onscreen too. This song is the best choice for romantic couples as well as those who lost their love. Voices – Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar.

Kora Kagaz – All songs of movie Aradhana were simply the best. As it’s not an easy task to pick one or two, I just chose this lovely song sung by Kishore da and Lata. You all know it well, song was pictured on Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore.

Aaja sanam madhur chandni mein hum – Yet another song of the top pair of yesterdays – Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Their sizzling chemistry onscreen has appealed the masses that time and still remains as the popular pair of Bollywood.

Tujhe dekha to – Why can’t we choose a few songs of new generation cinema as well? DDLJ is often regarded as the best romantic movie of present times and Kajol-SRK pair is the most popular couple too. This song was sung by Kumar Sanu and Lata Mangeshkar, music given by Jatin – Lalit.

Tum aagaye ho – Though ‘tere bina’ is also a nice choice of the movie Aandhi, I would like to choose this particular song of R.D, sung by Kishore da and Lata. This song is still a favourite of many music lovers.

Rim chim rim chim – 1942-A love story was the last composition of R.D.Burman and Anil Kapoor-Manisha Koirala pair has given full life to its songs by their extra ordinary acting skills. As I am choosing only duets, Rim chim is my choice. Otherwise I would have chosen Kuch na kaho sung by Kumar Sanu.

Dekha ek kwaab to yeh – The list is incomplete without a song of Big B-Rekha pair and no other song of this combination can beat this particular song from Silsila except ‘Yeh kahan’. But again, Yeh kahan is sung by Lata Mangeshkar, though Big B has recited a few lines in this song.

Mein agar kahoon – I am not sure if this song deserves a position in top 10. But if I include the best duet song of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal, this song will never finish second! The movie is Om Shanthi Om and stars are SRK and Deepika.

Dheere dheere se meri – List is incomplete without a song from Aashique. As I was confused with the choice, I included this particular song sung by Anuradha Paudwal and Kumar Sanu, pictured on Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal.

Now let me mention a few songs that couldn’t find space in the list – Chura liya hai of Yaadom ke baarat, Akele hain of QSQT, Raja ko rani se of Akele hum akele tum, Kismat se tum of Pukar and Gum hai kise ke of Rampur ka dushman.
