The Future Needs Aam Aadmi Party

The Aam Aadmi party recently came into power in Delhi. Arvind kejriwal was named the Chief Minister of Delhi in what seems to be a clarion call by the people of India to see change. The Aam Aadmi party is for the masses, as the name suggests or as they would like us to believe. Not to cast any aspersions on their merit but it is too early to actually judge them. One might say their intentions are completely towards the welfare of the country. It is mostly true but just having intentions is not enough. They must have the ability to follow through on their promises.

The BJP would like us to believe that AAP is a bunch of Liars with a mask on and that they are just as corrupt as the other politicians. This is not quite true but the BJP’s nature is quite threatened by the very existence of the AAP since they are not quite used to sincerity. But no offense to them too. They have their rights to doubt the AAP. After all, the promises made by the AAP seem to be too farfetched. They have promised the people of Delhi that they would halve the amount of money paid for electricity up to the usage of 400 MW of electricity. This is not only impractical but also quite impossible to achieve without it leading to serious financial problem for the treasury of Delhi government.

The other promise they have made is about water. Now that just doesn’t make sense since 52 % of Delhi doesn’t even have access to tap water. But let us not be quick to dethrone them just yet. Our country is too steeped in corruption that the AAP is a breath of fresh air, in its own way. This is what the future of India needs. In order for us to develop as a nation we will need to root out corruption at every level and embrace politicians who cater to the needs of the people in general and not just people who bribe them. India deserves this.
