Sachin Tendulkar looks in an ominous touch and it was proved against the Australian team in both innings. The way Sachin Tendulkar batted, especially in the first innings was very impressive. He not only anchored the Indian innings, but also kept the scorecard moving. It was his partnership with Virat Kohli that led the foundation for the next batsmen who came to the crease.

Tendulkar was in his elements and was stroking the ball well. There was confidence showing all over. It was a usual example of confidence personified. In fact, the sheer presence of Tendulkar at the crease is enough to demoralize any opposition and put confidence in his teammates. After all, he has been the pillar of Indian batting for more than two decades now.

However, there are many tricks up the sleeves of the bowlers who try to get Sachin out. One of them is using the rough patches made by the bowlers’ footmarks by constantly bowling within a specific area. The Australians tried bowling to Tendulkar in that region so that the ball would act weird and Tendulkar would get out.

There was a similar situation where England spin bowler Graeme Swann, I think it was him, who constantly bowled a negative line to Tendulkar when the two teams had met in the past. Negative bowling isn’t banned by the ICC and so the English bowlers tried to make use of those tactics against the Indian batsmen and especially against Sachin Tendulkar.

As far as the innings against Australia is concerned, it was one of the masterpieces from the iconic batsman. The second innings for Sachin was a sort of a cameo. One would have got the glimpses of the yesteryear Sachin who was quite in an attacking mood. It was indeed pleasurable watching the great batsman bat.

Sachin arrived at the crease when India needed 14 runs to win. This is when he hit two consecutive sixes of Nathan Lyon. One would have hardly imagined him taking such a stance. The interesting thing is that he even hit the second ball for a six after hitting the first one.

There is no doubt that Sachin Tendulkar rocks and he still has some centuries to score for India!
