Sachin Tendulkar is currently 198 not out no one has any idea how long is his (Test) innings going to last. The iconic player has played 198 Test matches and there was news that he would call it a day once he plays the landmark 200th Test match.

He will be the first player to have played 200 Tests. However, in spite of reaching that record, Sachin will not retire as is being talked about these days. It was expected that Tendulkar, who has already retired from the shorter format of the game, will play the 200th Test against South Africa in South Africa.

However, reports are gaining grounds that Tendulkar is very to play the 200th Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It looks like the (Board of Control for Cricket in India) BCCI wants Tendulkar to set the record in his own backyard. The venue for the first Test will be Kolkata. There is nothing wrong on the part of the Indian board if they plan to have the 200th Test for the Master in his own city.

The Little Master has played 198 Test matches and has scored 51 centuries and 67 half-centuries. That includes a highest score of 248 not out. With a total of 15837 runs, the figures speak for themselves. He has played the most number of Tests, scored the most number of centuries and is highest run scorer in Tests (as well as in ODIs).

Ever since Tendulkar made his debut against Pakistan in Pakistan at the age of 16 years, there has been no looking back. There were times when people and experts spoke of what milestones he will achieve by the time he reaches 25. And now after Sachin crossing 40 years, people are talking virtually the opposite.

It is being estimated that Sachin Tendulkar will call it a day once he reaches the milestone of 200 Tests. However, the iconic batsman once said that he will decide himself when the time is up for him, which means the 200 Tests is just a number for Tendulkar.

So, let’s hope he performs well in the final matches of his career and brings to an end a glittering career that will complete 24 years this November.
