ABOUT SACHIN TENDULKAR

 

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. He is also known as Little Master, Tendlys, God of Cricket, Master Blaster, The Master, and The Little Champion. He is well-known for playing cricket, and considered as one of the greatest batsmen that the sport has ever had. His achievements and skills are a reflection of the dedication and effort that he gave into the Cricket sport. He now serves as a sports icon for the youth to be inspired and become like him, an individual who gives his best efforts to achieve his dreams.

HIS CHILDHOOD

Sachin Tendulkar belonged to a family that consists of five members: his father, Ramesh Tendulkar, who is a novelist; his mother, Rajni, who works under the insurance industry; his elder brother, Ajit, his other brother, Nitin, and his sister, Savita. It was his elder brother who supported and encouraged him to play Cricket. He motivated to play Cricket when he attended high school in Sharadashram Vidyamandir. He trained by his coach, Ramakant Achrekar. At the age of 14, he became a ball boy for a game during the 1987 World Cup. The game was between India and Zimbabwe.

CONTRIBUTION IN INDIA CRICKET

Sachin Tendulkar has made a lot of world records, but the most prominent one would probably be that he was the first and the only player of Cricket who got the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, which is the highest award given in sports. This made Cricket as a legendary sport, which a legendary man named Sachin Tendulkar plays. Because of the award, Cricket has been well-known not only in India, but in other countries, as well. Cricket has made the Indian nation extremely proud in every aspect.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN LIFE

• He has the highest run score with a score of 14692 Test runs in Test Cricket.

• He became the first Cricket player to reach a total of 14,000 Test runs.

• With a total of 18,000 One Day International runs, he was the first player to reach that score.

• He was awarded the International Cricket Council Cricketer of the Year in 2010.

• Only Player in the world who has scored a double century in One day International.

• The highest award he achieved was the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 1998.

ROLE IN INDIAN TEAM

Tendulkar has been one of the most legendary batsmen of the Indian Team. He became an icon in the sport of Cricket because of his skills and achievements. Although he is left-handed, he uses his right hand for batting and bowling. Although he uses his right arm to play sports, he still manages to practice and play sports with his left arm regularly. You could say that he is an “all-around” player, considering the fact that he can play with both arms. This shows that Tendulkar tries to overcome his weaknesses and develops these to become one of his strengths.
