Principles Of Minimalism For Contemporary Homes

If we go to an old home designed few decades back, we can see a lot of things including furniture and decorations filled in the whole space, no space to move or respire. Old designs gave specifications to use the whole space of your interior to fill with anything without wasting a single space. Now those days have gone. Everyone wants fresh air to breathe, a lot of free space to move, low colour shades and only less decorative items, yet expensive ones. This model of new generation design is called contemporary style and the principle used is minimalism.

What’s minimalism? Arranging the rooms with fewer things as much as possible and leave all spaces free, so that sunlight and air can travel through rooms without any block. Simple, beautiful and spacious – but the best design chosen! Avoid difficult and curved lines please, instead only straight lines drawn, reducing time for design and expenses. Also, use only simple furniture in room with simple designs and shades. Natural colours, particularly sunlight is given more contraction than dark shades, though you can highlight a single wall of your living room with a dark shade.

Later trend is to give glass walls with a view of garden outside. It makes you feel close with nature. Also, you can enjoy natural scenery while sitting inside. When we are designing a wall with glass, we reduce our expenses too! Also, instead of constructing a lot of tiny rooms make a few rooms with more space. Rooms should appear spacious as well as well-ventilated. It will surely reduce the cost of construction, partly labour cost we spend for high designs. Also cleaning of such homes is easy as we avoid curves and big designs.

The designs have been taken from Japan. It’s an old fashion now it has returned back as it reduces total cost a lot, and gives an elegant look and style to homes.  Now let me give you a brief description about colours chosen for contemporary homes. Simple shades of white and grey are given first preference while designing contemporary homes. You can use light pink for highlighting borders as well.
