A good diet plan for a healthy heart is important. It is because a healthy heart is the main essential necessity for a healthy living.  The subject of health is very vast. In that the health of the heart is of vital importance without any saying. As you know, the working of the heart is very essential to our existence. In modern world, problems related to heart are very wide spread.

There are lots of problems in our daily life that affects our heart.  Considerable advances in the treatment of ailments pertaining to the heart have been achieved.  Still, a diet plan for a healthy heart is the most effective and simple way to care for the heart as a basic requirement. Therefore it is better to know which diets are good for the heart and which diets are not good.

You can take red wine for your physical condition. As an antioxidant, red wine is rated high. Red wine helps in improving good cholesterol while reducing bad cholesterol. Red wine also helps in digestion which is definitely good for the healthy functioning of the heart. Fatty fish is also a good item. Doctors in general suggest eating fatty fish at least two times a week for the sake of heart.  

Fats are of two types viz, saturated fats and the omega-3 fatty acids.  Beneficent fats are the omega-3 fatty acids. They slow down the development of plaque in the arteries, lower the levels of triglyceride and decrease blood pressure.  Fatty fish are low in saturated fats and rich in omega -3 fats.  A few other fish varieties such as sardines, herring and mackerel are also said to possess high omega-3 content.

Nuts are the third type of diet. The fact that nuts are good for the heart should be good news. However, experts particularly rate almonds high in nutritional value. Nuts also have a lot of other valuable nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids.  These lower the LDL cholesterol and strengthen the lining of arteries.  The other items that are good for a healthy heart are garlic, whole grains, oranges and beans.
