In Indian culture, mostly parents live with their children, but some people have no option and are forced to go home. Migration of young couples to another city, some misunderstanding with the child and daughter-in-law and the rude behavior of children are also some causes so that the parents are forced to go there. But the concept of old age home is not very old in India. This has been recently got popularized. Those old people or parents, who have none to look after them, usually go to a home is called old age home. Here they can live with some facilities like food, clothing and medical care. Parents need love and care from children but they often miss it and home is the last option then to them.

In India staying away from home, from the children and neighbors or left to themselves is not considered as a happy situation till now. But present situation has changed somehow and for this reasons this concept is very much popular in India now. Still now in India only we can see that two or three generations are living together in a family.

It is true that they get some facilities and their daily needs are fulfilled but at old age home they miss the love and care of dear ones. The concept of nuclear family has introduced this concept In India and has brought this unhappy situation in our society. It is better that some old age homes have came forward to look after them otherwise these old people died after a mental shock.

So it is very clear that if they have no better alternative to stay, the old age home is the best option.

Advantages of Old age home:

• Some old age homes have some special medical facilities like mobile health care system with ambulance, nurses also, who take care for 24 hours to them. They also provide a well balanced diet to maintain a healthy life.
•  Better services and touchy and good behavior of the employees and staffs are the main advantages of some homes.
•  Some homes provide many health related classes like yoga to them. It also helps them to be fit and healthy.
•  Some homes provide good communications systems so that they may be in touch with their loved ones.
•  To pass time some entertainment facilities with libraries are also provided.
•  Some homes provide a home like atmosphere. So they can make a good friendship and can share their feelings with others.
•  Those people who have ability to do some activities, they can use their talent in some creativity.
•  Some hobbies like gardening or sewing are pursuable with some facilities.
•  Homes and some organizations help them to participate in many religious activities too.
•  The old people need not take any headache, so they can maintain a free and comfortable life.

So it is necessary or Not?

It is a controversial question. A child is given some moral education from childhood to worship his/her parents, teachers and guests as God. Parents take a lot of pain and sacrifice a lot of things for the betterment and happiness of their children. So we should have some duties and responsibilities to look after in their old age. They deserve it from children. Money, power, assets, home is nothing in front of parents blessing.

In other hand in old age they also become like children. They become sensitive also, but later they forget everything and again want betterment of their children. Some misunderstanding may come due to generation gap but we should all realize the real situations. We should prefer their needs and feelings.

Old age should be for those people who have no alternative option. Home looks beautiful with all its ornaments.

Conclusion: We should remember one more thing that our children follow us, so we should keep a good example always to get better treatment in future from them. Home is the first school of every child. They should be given the touch of grandparents. Many times grandparents help them also to learn some moral values. So if it is possible then live together and enjoy life with the elders.
