Odisha formerly known as Orissa is an Indian state famous for its wonderful tourist spots, fairs and celebrations. The name Odisha instantly reminds one the chariot procession of Puri, (The Puri Rath Yatra) first thing that comes to our mind but Odisha has much more to offer to tourists for the entire duration of the year. There are lot of other places like lakes, beaches and forests to visit in this beautiful state. 

Puri Chariot procession - Puri is one of the four holiest places of India (Puri Dham) where millions of tourists visit every year during the famous Rath-Yatra.  It’s a great honor to touch or pull the chariot carrying Lord Jagannath the Krishna, his brother Balram and sister Subhadra from Jagannath temple situated in the Neelgiri Hills.

Balighai Beach- the Balighai beach about eight kilometers away from Puri town surrounded by Casuarina Trees is a popular picnic spot famous for its sunset and sunrise views.

Puri Beach- Puri Beach is more famous for its religious values. The Puri Beach is considered the holiest Beach of India as the devotees take a holy dip to wash their sins off. The Sunset of the Beach is also considered another attraction among the visitors here.  

Gopalpur on Sea- Gopalpur on Sea is situated in Ganjam district of Odisha was considered one of the most important but now has been converted into most popular of beaches at Bay of Bengal. This beach is at a distance of 170 km from Bhubaneswar the capital of Odisha.

Chandipur Beach- Chandipur Beach is another peaceful Sea Beach at Bay of Bengal at a distance of 10-12 km from Balasore town of Odisha which is famous for its strange quality of sea suddenly disappearing from the eyes twice every day. Yes, the sea here suddenly recedes by as much as five kilometers every day here twice every day. It comes back with the high tide and meanwhile people can walk on the sand until the water comes back gently.

Konark Beach- One of the finest beaches in India Konark Beach is considered for its most beautiful sunset point. Konark Sun Temple is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The beach has several famous temples here including the beautiful Chandrabhaga beach where the tourists spend their time enjoying the beauty nature has provided.
