NON VEG RECIPES AND THEIR VARIETIES

The non veg recipes are usually made in India with the lamb, chicken or fish and with eggs and other sea foods like prawns. They are hot and spicy that will make anyone who tastes them a slave to these dishes. If you sneak into the kitchen or dining room where these Indian non veg recipes are prepared the exotic aroma emanating would kindle your appetite.

 

The non veg recipes are made as rice varieties or as gravies or as standalone appetizers. The rice varieties are made by mixing the rice with the chicken or mutton along with spices. Biriyani and chicken pulav are the examples. They not only taste great but also smell great tempting one to taste them. Making biriyani is a long process which needs your patience. However with the help of pressure cookers making any non veg recipe has become a matter of minutes.

 

The curry or gravy is prepared with chicken or mutton. Chettinad fish curry is very famous. Together with the spices, coconut milk or coconut paste is added to get the thick liquid. Usually this curry is mixed with rice while eating. Also they are taken along with chapathi or roti or even with idli and dosa. Idli with mutton kurma will melt into your mouth and you would eat much more than you normally would.

 

The side dishes like tandoori items or mutton vindaloo or chicken vindaloo are consumed alone or with sambar rice or lemon rice or with any other rice varieties. Some of the chicken varieties are butter chicken, chettinad chicken, chicken curry, chicken tikka, tandoori chicken, coconut chicken curry, chilli chicken, chicken drumsticks, kadai chicken, chicken reshmi kabab, chicken kofta, murg musallam, ginger honey chicken, etc.

 

Some of the mutton non veg recipes are hyderabadi haleem, hyderabadi biriyani, Moghul biriyani, bargisi kofta, kosha mangsho, kheema kofta, mutton kurma, mutton pulav, kuska kurma, khad, keema methi, kashmiri keema pulav, mutton Manchurian, shammi kabab, seekh kabab, etc.

 

Some of the fish dishes are amritsari fish, fish fried rice, fish moli, potato fish, finger fish, grilled fish, machili jaisamandi, kullu trout, kolhapuri fish, fish kofta curry, fish korma, fish kulambu, poricha meen, tandoori fish, Indian fish curry, fried fish, etc. Balchao, goan sambarachi kodi, karwari prawns, raattu kolambu, rattu varuval are made of prawns.

 

Some people consider eggs as vegetarian item and some consider it as non-veg item. However usually this is included in the non-vegetarian section in the recipe books and websites. The various items made of eggs are egg omelette, egg pakora, poached eggs, egg curry, egg toast, Bombay sweet toast with eggs, egg biriyani, boiled eggs, etc.

 

Apart from these non veg recipes there are some non-vegetarian appetizers also. They are eaten during evening times or in parks. They are keema samosa, mutton puffs, chicken puffs, aloo keema stuffing, etc. In most of the sweets eggs are used making them non-vegetarian sweets. Together with them the soup varieties are also made with mutton and chicken. They are nutritious and contain vitamins and minerals in them.
