Manoj Kumar, also known as Bharat Kumar is famous for patriotic movies and films on social issues that preach good messages among audience. In fact, he is known as a romantic hero as well who has given many memorable songs to Bollywood. Though Mohd.Rafi was the leading voice during 60’s and Kishore Kumar in 70’s, it can be noted that Mukesh’s voice suited him most. In fact, Mahendra Kumar’s voice was also used for movies like Puraab aur paschim. Why was Mukesh’s voice chosen for Bharat Kumar? Is it because the depth in showing hidden emotions through voice and its quality was well exhibited in Mukesh’s voice most? Music critics have always appreciated the hidden emotions of Mukesh’s voice as well its magic power to act on human mental sorrows. When Mukesh sings for Manoj Kumar in a sad mood, it appears as if it’s applying medicine on our mental bruises. Am I not right? I doubt if any other singer can replace Mukesh’s voice in these compositions. Mukesh voice has given magical double effect on these songs and they stand above ages too! That doesn’t mean that Mukesh’s voice suits most for sorrow and sad songs only. Fast numbers like Toba yeh matwala chaal of Pathar ke sanam, Pani re pani of Shor, Title tracks of Dus Numbari and Hariyali aur raastha tell some another story.

Now let me mention the best romantic songs in this magical combination – Mehboob mere of Pathar ke sanam, Haan tum bilkul vaisi ho of Himalay ki gode mein, Zindagi ken a toote ladi of Kranthi, Meina phoolonga of Roti kapda aur makaan and Mere khwabom mein aur quayaalom mein of Honey moon. They are simply the best instances to prove that Mukesh is the ghost voice of Manoj Kumar.
