Mughal Gardens In New Delhi

When we hear about Rastrapathi Bhavan of New Delhi, all remember the very famous “Mughal Gardens”. Every year it was will be opened for “Udyonotsav” for the visit of people.

One forgets everything when they come across these gardens. The flowers and plants in those gardens give us lot of pleasure and peace of mind. The beauty and greatness of those gardens cannot to be explained, but just experienced by viewing them. Not only in India but these gardens are very famous in foreign countries also. You can find canals, terrace and fountains all over the garden.

The whole credit of making our Mughal Gardens so beautiful goes to Mr Sukhram who is of 55 years old. He is taking care of those gardens since 33 years. His family had come from Haryana, he was born and brought up in Rastrapthi Estates only. Since many decades his ancestors were taking care of those gardens. He says that he has learned from his father and elder brother about how to take care of the garden and how to protect them and that is the reason that today he is the care taker of the very famous Mughal Gardens.

There are 5000 Tulip Plants, 200 different type of Rose Plants, 80 varieties of Cactus, and many more like Dalia Plants, Calendula Plants, Gerbera Plants, Linaria Plants, Larkspur Plants, Gazania Plants, Verbena Plants, Yolanda Plants, Pansi Carnation Plant, Salvia Plant, etc. You can also find a terrace garden and lounge garden. Not only this you can also find the world famous Bonsai Plants in the garden.

He says that all the presidents who worked wound like these gardens very much and gave lot of importance to them. Saying about Mr Abdul Kalam, he used to enjoy coming to the garden, he used to ask about the plants and know more about them. He used to spend time with school children who came there for the visit and take photo snaps with them. Herbal Gardens and Spiritual Gardens of Mughal Gardens was the idea of Mr Abdul Kalam. You can find many type of medical herbs in Herbal Garden and the plants which are said to be very sacred by different religious in Spritual Gardens.
