Jacques Kallis has become the third highest run scorer in Test matches. He reached the third position batting against India on the fourth day of the second Test. Kallis has scored a century in his farewell Test. With the last century, Kallis now has 45 centuries in Tests.

The first in the list is the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs and has 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries to his credit. The highest score for Sachin is 248 no out runs.

Ricky Ponting is second in the list of all time highest run scorers in Tests. Ponting has scored 13,378 runs in his career. He has 41 centuries and 62 half-centuries, with 257 runs being his highest score.

Jacques Kallis now comes in the third place as he scored exactly one run more than Rahul Dravid. Kallis has 13,289 runs to his name now. He has 45 centuries and 58 fifties. 224 runs is the highest score for Kallis.

Rahul Dravid of India has now been pushed to the fourth place. The ‘Wall’ has scored 13,288 runs in his career. These runs were scored with 36 tons and 63 half-centuries. Dravid’s highest personal score is 270 runs.

Brian Lara comes in the fourth place. The legendary West Indies southpaw scored 11,953 runs. He has 34 centuries and 48 half-centuries in his career. Lara’s highest individual score is 400 not out runs. This is also the highest individual score in Tests.

Jacques Kallis has been one of the main batsmen for South Africa for many years. In fact, he has been in the South Africa team since 1995 and has played innumerable innings that has taken them to safety many times. That’s not all he has guided his team to victory many times.

It has been a coincidence that Kallis has scored only one more run that Rahul Dravid. And it looks very unlikely that he may get to bat again. So, this can be said that destiny allowed Kallis to bat only to overtake Rahul Dravid.

But there is no doubt that Kallis deserved to be at the top and amongst the best in the world. However, his fans will get to see him in other formats as he has only called it quits only in Tests.
