INDIAN RESTAURANTS AND THEIR TYPES

People of India are slowly getting into the habit of eating at the restaurants during weekends so the Indian restaurants are getting popular day by day. They cater to the different tastes of people belonging to different communities. You can divide the Indian restaurants based on the region like South Indian restaurants, North Indian restaurants, East Indian restaurants and West Indian restaurants.

 

The North Indian restaurants mainly concentrate on vegetarian dishes because most of the North Indians are vegans. The usage of dairy products will be in high density in these restaurants and tawa dishes are quite famous here. The items like chappatthi, naan, kulcha, paratha and other fried and spicy items like puri, bhatoora and tandoori varieties are commonly seen. The North Indian thali includes rice, roti, lentils, sabji, pickles and curd.

 

The East Indian restaurants serve the dishes of West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura. These items include cumin seeds, nuts, poppy seeds and mustard. Fish varieties are also popularly served. In the West Indian restaurants, you can relish the cuisines of Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat. Sea food, coconut based items and rice are the main food varieties found here. Rajasthan restaurants are vegetarian restaurants because people here are vegans.

 

In the South Indian restaurants, foods of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andra Pradesh and Karnataka are cooked and served. The main meals include sambar, rasam, poriyal, koottu, pickles, payasam and pappad with a plate of rice. Idli, vada, dosa, pongal, curd vada and poori are served for breakfast and dinner. Together with these items, non-vegetarian dishes like varieties of chicken, mutton and biriyani items and fish varieties are also seen. There are separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurants for the facility of the customers.

 

The Indian restaurants can also be divided into vegetarian restaurants, non-vegetarian restaurants, French restaurants, Chinese restaurants, Mughlai restaurants and Continental restaurants. Rice, roti, dhal, curry and vegetables dishes and curd are served in vegetarian restaurants. However in non-vegetarian restaurants both veg dishes and non-veg dishes are served. Different types of pickles are the specialty of some vegetarian restaurants. Vegetarian thali is cheaper and affordable when compared to their non-vegetarian counterparts. Ghee is extravagantly used in vegetarian restaurants in India.

 

In the French Indian restaurants you can relish dishes like pumpkin potato dish, matelote, far Breton, pain poilane, mannala, beerawecka, etc. In the Chinese Indian restaurants you can try different types of fried rice, Manchurian items, fried prawns, noodles, chows, etc. If you want to enjoy the lip smacking cakes, confectionaries and other European varieties like Greek salads, Russian borscht and Hungarian gulyas soup you must get into continental Indian restaurants.

 

If your taste buds are used to the hot and spicy non-vegetarian items then you certainly should visit the Mughlai Indian restaurants. Here you can taste the various Mughlai delicacies like biriyani, keema, kabab and murg masala varieties. Usage of dry fruits, dry dates and saffron is more in this cuisine. These restaurants are located in all the major cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Chicken, mutton, beef, lamb and fish are used to make them.
