Indian Batsmen Shining In Indian Premier League 6

Some Indian players in the Indian Premier League (IPL), especially the batsmen, are making merry. They have been scoring tons of runs and helping their team win matches. The captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli and a couple of batsmen from Mumbai Indians – Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma are the talk of the town.

Dinesh Karthik Vs. Delhi Daredevils

86 runs; 48 balls; 14 fours; 2 sixes

The match between Mumbai and Delhi was the one that Delhi needed to win. It was because they still hadn’t won a single match. The two wickets of Ponting and Tendulkar when only 1 run was scored gave jitters to Mumbai fans. Mumbai was precariously placed at 2/1.

This is when Karthik took over and dictated his terms to the Delhi bowlers. He did not spare a single bowler and aptly dealt with the loose balls. There was no stopping him as he stroked his way to a half-century in just 29 balls that included eight fours and a six.

He was finally dismissed on 86 when it looked he would be the first to reach to a century this season.

Rohit Sharma Vs. Pune Warriors India

62 runs; 32 balls; 3 fours; 5 sixes

Rohit Sharma found the much-needed form and runs from his bat when he lifted Mumbai to a formidable score of 183 runs for just three wickets. It was again some lusty blows from the Mumbai batsman who dealt rightly with balls that were asking to be hit. He was batting with Kieron Pollard and for once in his life Pollard played a second fiddle to a batman.

Sharma reached his half-century in only 30 balls and included three fours and five huge sixes. It was primarily due to his innings that Mumbai could post a challenging total and were able to defend it on a batting wicket.

Virat Kohli Vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad

93 runs; 47 balls; 11fours; 4 sixes

In the previous match, Hyderabad had defeated Bangalore through a super over. It was revenge time for Kohli and his boys and he did it in style. Needing 162 runs to win in front of the home crowd, Kohli got to business immediately. He was determined to prove that ‘Revenge is Sweet’ and he did that in style.

He took just 31 balls to reach to his 50. Five times he sent the ball to the fence and twice over it. It was a treat to watch for the Bangalore fans.

Indian batting looks like having a warm future, isn’t it?
