The discovery of broadcasting has made great contributions of our daily life.  Through broadcasting many medias are running and we are able to get many news and also latest from any parts of the world. It not only carries only news but provides us with many entertainment packages like songs, music, recitations and plays. We also get times signals, weather forecast and many international affairs. It also telecasts many social programmes on special occasions. So it is a most powerful means of intensive propaganda.

It has also a great importance in education sector. It may also be social education. It can spread knowledge through a mass at a time. It can also help to organize a programmed for mass education about the problems of health and sanitation. School children can get many language courses like lessons in English, Sanskrit, and many other languages so it can play a role of a real teacher.

Now-a-days in all over the world we can not over look the importance of broadcasting. Proper utilization can help a country to progress economically as well as socially. People of backward areas can enlighten themselves using this facility in the right direction.

Some advantages are as follows:-

1. Exploited for mass education.

2. Illiterates’ can be educated.

3. Agricultural discussion may be done.

4. Knowledge of current affairs can be shared.

5. Educational knowledge can be shared.

6. It is a mean of relaxation.

Some disadvantages are as follows:-

1. It can not provide the funds and enjoyment totally like cinema halls.

2. It may make people enjoyment-minded and can hamper many important works.

3. It may affect eye-sight of children.

4. Consumption of electricity may be increased due to continuous running of many types of equipment.

It is heartening to note that the government of India has begun taking an active interest in the maximum utilization of broad casting with its limited resources. Community sets have been provided for rural areas.

Conclusion: Advantages and disadvantages are two parts of it, but we should use this technology in a positive manner. Thus we can progress our society and country. Proper use can make a new world.
