Storage – the place needed inside your home to neatly arrange things. It makes your home neat and tidy and helps easy cleaning too. If you place things in order, it saves a lot of space and makes your room spacious too. If so, we can use our room and space for other purposes and freely walk inside. How should we prepare storage space inside our home? It depends on our needs and the accessories we have. If we have a lot of items to be stored and if family is big consisting of parents, grand parents and 3 kids, more area should we allotted for storage. If you arrange your storage wisely, you need home with less surface area only.

Small pullout drawers have now become a part of modular storage. Now processed wood and multicoloured plywood with cheap cost are used for this purpose. If you arrange your books, toys and clothes in an artistic way, it can give new look to your interior. You should plan earlier, during planning stage itself the exact locations for your storages. Assure that those storages don’t have direct contact with bathroom doors or pipes to avoid fungal problems.

You can provide glass lids in kitchen cabinets and living room while wood is the best choice for your wardrobe. No one likes to make their wardrobe visible to others. Book shelves can be placed open or with glass windows. If you are creative, you can provide pullout drawers beneath settee and chairs of your living room, beneath bed of your bedroom and beneath your staircase also. You can partition living room from dining hall with a big shelf also. It gives privacy as well as sufficient space of storage also.

Now inbuilt storage space is another trend. If so, such spaces won’t be visible from outside. It is always better to provide separate storage spaces for most used and less frequently used things. Most frequently used things should come near our waist elevation, less frequent used things beneath it and if certain things are used very rarely, you can use upper spaces for storing such items.

In short, we should arrange storage in such a way that we can use things and space effectively and enough space is provided to store all things of your home in a neat way.
