PUC is the turning point in one’s life. After getting into Engineering, one’s adult life actually begins. Your strengths do play a major role here. Your grasping power, Imagination, Creative ability, Analytical skills, reasoning power, self motivation, etc etc needs to b put into practice. Once you start graduation, you will note that you r relatively independent. Spoon feeding from lecturers is absent unlike in school. More so you will find in post graduation, where you will be left all to yourself. This is where your disciplined life background plays a major role in your life. At this juncture you will b spending more time outside the house than within.
Your ‘samskara’, plays a major role in shaping your adult life. I suppose you will start understanding now, why I asked you to write about yourself, your family, your background, your exposure to everything. This area plays a crucial role in shaping our personality all through your life. We as parents try and provide for, all the shortcomings we faced in our life time as young ones and knowingly or unknowingly impose our wishes and likings on our kids. We try to design our kids to be masters in studies and in aspects of our interest. In our families most decision making is done by dads.
What we need to do is mould our children to take up good career, be a good citizen of our country and the world. Cultivate love and affection for our fellow beings. Live harmoniously with siblings and society. Live a contented happy, healthy life.
Most of the younger generation these days ape the west. They go to the extent of learning and listening / watching to western music and art forms. They give reasons of globalisation / being hep / cool. At the same time they look down at the Indian values / culture. I wonder if this is correct at all.
It may not be and it may be the way of the future but it is important for one to keep the focus in your head so that you don’t lose you way.
