Bollywood has the stories to tell about both successful actors as well as flop ones. Many stars have debut with good movies and have won best debut awards too, yet failed to sustain in the industry due to bad project selection as well as bad performance. Through this article, let me keep a brief note on such heroes who failed to put an impulse on Bollywood, after having a magic debut.

The first name that comes to my mind is none other than Abhishek Bachchan – the son of all time great stars of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri. He debut with Refugee aside Kareena Kapoor, but it couldn’t make an impulse on Bollywood. Then after a series of flops like Tera Jaadu Chal Gaya, Dhai Aksar prem ke, Bas itna sa khwab hai, Shararat, Om Jai Jagdish, Haan meine bhi pyar kiya hai, LOC Kargil, Zameen, Mumbai se aaya mere dost and Kuch na kaho, he was able to taste the success with a few movies like Dhoom 1 and 2, Bunty aur Bubli, Guru, Bluff master, Kabhi Alvida na kehna and Sarkar. He was paired most with his wife Aiswarya Rai. Yet after his marriage, Dostana was the only movie that was a big success in Bollywood. In true means, he is still a struggling hero of Bollywood, despite having good names and good banners in the industry.

Aftab Shivdasani is the second name that comes to my mind. Though he doesn’t have successful relatives in the industry, he had a shining yesterday when he was the hot property of advertisement industry during 80’s. He had a magical start in Bollywood opposite Urmila in Ram Gopal Varma’s Mast. He was able to deliver his second success movie too – Kasoor. Yet he was dragged far behind other actors for wrong choices he made and his chocolate looks. Though he is 30+ and has done many action films, he is still considered as ‘Farex baby’ of Bollywood.

Now a word on Uday Chopra. He is the youngest son of Yash Chopra and entered Bollywood through Mohabbatein, directed by his brother Athitya Chopra. Except Dhoom series and Mere yaar ki shaadi hai, he has contributed nothing to Bollywood. Before I leave let me mention a few more names. Himesh Reshammiya, Upen patel, Neil Mukesh, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan and Zayeed Khan can also be included in this flop list.
